It’s really distressing for medical practitioner to see such a neglected agonising mammoth sized tumorous lesion in the present times. Awareness of the extent of neglect to seek timely medical help is highlighted by this case. We are presenting the case as in search of literature, we could not find an image of a bone tumor of such a huge proportion suspected of Chondrosarcoma at this age. A young male adult 25 year old patient came with complaints of globular massive painful lesion rapidly enlarging since last 6 months with associated cachexia, weight loss, mild fever and loss of appetite (Figure 1). There was swelling of the size of a big football, with shining atrophic skin and venous prominences indicating the malignant and aggressive nature of the swelling. Radiography revealed femoral meta-diaphyseal lesion with bone destruction, soft tissue infiltration with popcorn or flocculent calcification, pathological fracture and wide zone of transition with ill-defined dorder indicating aggressive nature of the lesion (Figure 2). Most probable diagnosis was Chondrosarcoma due to the characteristic calcification, though other possibilities like Osteosarcoma & Ewing’s sarcoma were also considered. However, patient died soon after admission before we could do biopsy for histological diagnosis, further evaluation & management.
