The optical fluorescence diagnostic can be used as an aid in dentistry, it allows, for autofluorescence, to detect numerous changes in the oral cavity that could go unnoticed by the dentist. The use of an oral method of fluorescence allows to observe changes in dental hard tissues such as the presence of dental biofilm, decalcification, dental stains and can also differentiate restorative materials of the natural tooth surface. The oral fluorescence can also be used to diagnose soft tissue injuries and potentially malignant tumor lesions.
